Why Ramadan Is a Special Month for Muslims

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is considered the most sacred month for Muslims. It is the month in which the Holy Qur’an was first revealed, making it a time of deep spiritual reflection and worship.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset. This means they do not eat or drink during daylight hours. The fast teaches self-discipline, patience, and empathy for those who are less fortunate.

Each evening, Muslims break their fast with a meal called Iftar, often shared with family, friends, and the community. Special nightly prayers called Taraweeh are performed in the mosque, creating a strong sense of unity and devotion.

Ramadan is also a time for increased charity, forgiveness, and good deeds. Muslims are encouraged to help others, improve their character, and strengthen their relationship with Allah.

At Masjid Madera, Ramadan is observed with daily Iftar, Taraweeh prayers, and community gatherings, making it a time of worship, learning, and togetherness.
